Andrew | New Stage

A new baby was given birth to the fantastic world, and was named ChungYu. Actually the name was given by his father and grandpa,. At first, he did not realize that it is quite a meaningful and abstract name as it is too philosophical for him to understand; it is a kind of the thought of “Confucianism”. Anyway, He would like to thank his family for giving him such a special and philosophical name. (1981-1982)
He was born into a good family, which was very complete and warm. Everything was so amusingly planned by the creator of man. For him, it was very precious to have such a combination. Without any bad or horrible things happening, He grew up in a harmonious family till school age. (1983-1985)
Frankly speaking, He was not good at academic subjects, both in primary school and secondary school. Sometimes he still stares at the report card and to say to himself, "What's happened in my life? Why did I get such an adversity in my early stage of life?" Being pressured by peers, relatives and parents, He was frustrated with his poor performance. Apprehension instead of happiness always followed him in primary school. He seems to be isolated or ignored by surrounding classmates and friends just because of the inconsistency of his academic achievements. Sometimes he felt like he hated himself. Under such a situation, He told himself that if he wanted to be respected, He would need to do things more than usual, more than normal. This thought subsists on his heart till now. "To be respected" was his wish, even till now, and in the future!. Anyway, I could thank my primary school classmates for giving such challenges me so that I could become a moral and learned man. (1986-1993)

Andrew | School Life
A "deadwood" changed the study environment from primary to secondary school. It was quite hard for me to adapt to it. Abundant challenges surrounded me in the secondary school stage. They were academic performances, peer relationships, the so-called "youth" lifestyle, and so on. None of them aroused my interest as I was not able to do well in them, until my turning point in Form 5...
Form 5 was the dramatic year for him, or maybe my whole life. Before the HKCEE I was raring to promote to Form 6, even the university study is a must for me as I believed that a perfect education path should be a university graduate.. may be it's so ideal for me and I faced umpteen pressures from myself that I needed to be the successful man. It's so misty to distinguish my right path, sometimes I swamped, without patrons' support, being so aggressive and so.
The first HKCEE result was poor, I was totally and extremely frustrated with my result, however, it was totally changed my behaviour and attitude towards myself. After that, I tried to be the first in the class, the first in everything, with a dramatic change within 10 months, I was being respected by most of the teachers, peers, classmates and friends. I appreciated their respect to me and it's quite precious to have such feeling, that I did not have such feeling before! At last, I was entered to the post-secondary and University smoothly.

Andrew | University Life

University gave me a colourful and fantastic life. In this three year period, I tried lots of stuff, almost inundated by ....my first love, group work, new schooling method, lectures, sports, gym, water sports... also earning money by myself! However, my major, social work, was not my preferred subject, instead of IT. But I told myself that I need to study it well in order to get a degree... and three years gone, I received my first degree in social work. But I was always thinking of leaving this field, because it was not my initial goal and my interest actually, even I did pass all the requirements to be graduated.
May be it was the destiny of my life, studying social science made me more towards "Arts" and "Humanistic", I started to treat my surroundings in a more humanistic way, concern their apprehensions, adversity, mirth and sorrow. In facing the predicaments, I would have the ability to solve it in a mild way, also my presentation skills and communication skills, English language was improved a lot, so I did not hate my subject but just one thing, if I have a chance to change, Social work would not be my first priority.

Andrew | Career Life

After having a series of studies during the past 20 years, and lots of adversities making a guy become more and more mature. Now he is gonna to step into the society, to start his first job. Hopefully the job hunting stage was not very difficult. Only the first invitation of the interview from FitnessFirst Hong Kong making him to be hired up till now.
Andrew's first job is a Fitness Instructor in FitnessFirst, for the time being he is trying hard to work, to learn and to treat his colleagues and surroundings better. As being a "new" staff over there, all the things are starting from zero. He tried hard to learn all the stuff, in the Front of House, Personal training department, how to be a professional and the communications skills. Initially, he is very frustrated whether he should stay or not in the first week. Unfairness of the duty schedule, workloads making him very down and really want to quit.
After overcoming several challenges everyday, he learned how to deal with people, guests, colleagues, and strengthen his existency in the club. But one thing making him so disappointed was the management of the club.
People and stuff over there making him to strive for a better benefit, he is trying hard to do his best in order to get promotion to another level. Still, trying and trying, working hard and so on, are seems to be not very successful. Andrew is now seeking for his new career path, and to try his best to work hard in order to prepare for future life.

Andrew | Life Achievements
After the hard and challenging studies, I was successfully graduated my Master Degree of Science in Electronic Commerce in City University of Hong Kong in 2007, it was another turning point of my life.
I was changing my job from Fitness First to Seasons Fitness, which is another large fitness center in Hong Kong as a fitness administrator. I started to learn stuff other than personal training such as administration work, strategic planning as well as the fitness management.
After 8 months, I was being promoted as a fitness supervisor and start taking over the managerial work for the fitness department, which is a big step of my life to the management, and supervising over 15 personal trainers, and of course it was the first time for my management life.

Year 2007

Fitness Supervisor, Seasons Fitness Hong Kong
Year 2008

Club General Manager, Body Torque Health and Fitness Club, Bangkok, Thailand
I was luckily to advance my career from the existing position to a higher position in 2008, and it was really frustrated me a lot as I have to leave my place, to a totally brand new environment - Bangkok, as the club general manager.
Being the Club Manager of a fitness and health club, I was really enjoy it as this is one of my wish in my life. I remembered five years ago, when I was just graduated from the University, I was still confusing myself in my career path. I was worrying if I should start my career in Social Service field, or in the fitness field. Therefore I gave myself three years to try on the fitness industry then. Times goes by, I still remember when I was interviewing with the Club General Manager, Bernard in Fitness First, he asked me a question. That is, "What do you think yourself would be, after five years?" And I answered, "I want to be YOU! Club General Manager!". At that moment he was shocked for a second and said I am so ambitious, but he likes it!
See, my goal five years ago was being a Club General Manager. And I was trying hard to prepare for myself, to cope with different challenges, obstacles. Although during the time I had had frustrated, tried to give up, as you can see that, Andrew, now is already being the Club General Manager of a Fitness & Health Club. It was unbelievable and amazingly occurred in my 20's. I started to believe in myself, and the saying,
"It's not how good you are, it's how good you want to be!" --- by Paul Arden.

Andrew | Monk Life

During my early 25, I decided to have my monk ordination in Bangkok , Thailand to share merits to my family and myself.
For the monk life, it is extraordinary and amazing as you could probably goes into the real serenity that you would hardly found in Hong Kong . During the time, I was told by the abbot that I owe everything - my well-being, education, life itself, and above all the opportunity to become a monk - to my parents who have raised me since babyhood. Now is my chance to repay that tremendous debt by renouncing all worldly pleasures for a while, so bringing my parents the opportunity to earn merit. This spiritual satisfaction could helps in balancing both the physical and mental conditions of one's mind.
As we know that city life was inundated by umpteen uncertainties and adversities, that's why people are trying hard to throng into varies places and clubs to relax or alleviate their stress and pressures after work. For him, I was luckily to be a monk for nine days in Bangkok during my annual leave in November 2006. I was learned how to be calm, to treasure of the surroundings and understand more about the Buddhist. I was feeling comfortable and calm for the days in the temple, chatting with other monks and instructors, chanting and having a deep thinking on my work, or even some of the philosophic inspirations.
In Buddha's words, to avoid all evil, to cultivate good, to purify one's mind. That is the core philosophy of Buddhism
"Purity and impurity depends on oneself, that is how you treat or interpret the incident or event." - Buddha
